Manderley Health Care Center is seeking a reliable Qualified Medication Aide to set up, administer and document medications and perform various resident care activities and services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of our residents.

Job details/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, administers, and documents medications following accepted practices and regulations under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living; including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc. Assists residents in eating where needed, and records food intake.
  • Acts appropriately under the direction of a Licensed Nurse and acts as an active member of the inter-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in unit/shift assignments, to meet resident and facility needs.
  • Reads and follows daily care plans; performs assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; monitors and records vital signs; reports changes in resident condition to Charge Nurse; documents care provision on resident record/flow sheets as required and reports accidents and incidents.
  • Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge of residents

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and previous Long Term Care Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
  • Experience working with patients with Alzheimer's or Dementia preferred.
  • Must be listed on the Indiana State Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Possesses a current (not expired or lapsed) Indiana State Certified Medication Tech (CMT) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) by the State and must also be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the State.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Resident Care Coordinator or the Charge Nurse.
